Preschool Story and Playtime occurs every Tuesdat in the Sandy Library Community Room from 10:00am to 11:30am.  The program is suitable for kids 3 to 5 years. Playtime and snack is provided by generous funds from Clackamas County Children, Youth, and Family Divisions, and Todos Juntos.

Storytimes open up the world of books, music, culture, and play to babies, toddlers, families and young children. Did YOU know that nearly half of the children entering kindergarten lack the early reading skills needed for school success. Sandy Public Library has several free programs and services for children that enhance skills in reading, interactive play and early literacy development.

AntFarm Family Support Meeting @ Ant Farm

Although open to all families, the meeting will not include public officials such as DHS or police. The intent is to create a safe place where discussions can occur without fear of consequence. We will offer a family oriented craft class at the same time so that there is the opportunity for childcare during the meeting.

When: First and Third Wednesday evenings beginning January 17th of 2018, 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm

Facilitation: Nunpa, the Executive Director will be at every meeting. He has over 30 years of experience working in the system with mental health, addictions, run-away youth, truancy, and school problems. He has knowledge of supports in the community as well as opportunities for youth to help support and change negative situations.

Childcare Support During Meetings: AntFarm volunteers will support children in providing an activity or craft project in another room while the parents, grandparents, and guardians meet.

Preschool Story and Playtime occurs every Tuesdat in the Sandy Library Community Room from 10:00am to 11:30am.  The program is suitable for kids 3 to 5 years. Playtime and snack is provided by generous funds from Clackamas County Children, Youth, and Family Divisions, and Todos Juntos.

Storytimes open up the world of books, music, culture, and play to babies, toddlers, families and young children. Did YOU know that nearly half of the children entering kindergarten lack the early reading skills needed for school success. Sandy Public Library has several free programs and services for children that enhance skills in reading, interactive play and early literacy development.

Parents and caregivers are invited to join and meet others with young children, make new friends, share and exchange information about parenting, learn about community resources, and have fun with other activities for you and your child. Playgroup is a parent/child interactive opportunity in a relaxed, large indoor-park setting offering playtime and semi-structured activities. Light snack provided. Park is staffed by volunteers and help is always needed to set-up and put away toys and activities.

This will be a quiet, distraction free place for students to work on homework, use the computer lab if needed, and utilize Khan Academy for homework help. There will be no direct tutoring support, but students will be supervised by an adult to help maintain focus and ensure that computer time is being used only for schoolwork (i.e. no games or socializing). All independent students ( age 10+) are welcome

In addition, there are Sandy treatment centers within 25 miles of Sandy and Oregon drug and alcohol treatment centers.
