About the Sandy Nature Trails Run:
“I Pity The Fool!” Just kidding (am I allowed to say that or is that copyrighted?) Wow weird start to a race introduction if I do say so myself – said Race Director Anthony Bucci AKA The Beerded Runner.
Hi I am Anthony Bucci in case you skipped the sentence above this one, and I have a blog called The Beerded Runner. In case you don’t follow me already, (you should cause your missing out) I have a huge passion for trail running and running in general. I have big aspirations and goals in the world of Trail and ultra running and “I have a dream, a dream in which road runners and trail runners we be seen as equals” not that they aren’t already.
But in all seriousness I have a dream to inspire people to get out there and start running and preferably out in nature on nature trails. I hope that this race will do both by getting people out there, being active and trying out running on the trails for those whom haven’t before. I believe this race is a great start!
The Inaugural Sandy Nature Trails Run! This is a pretty flat easy trail 5k running and walking event for everyone. This is a great introduction into Trail Running with some beautiful single track trails through the forest. This will be a pretty easy course for you to stretch out your legs and get the footwork in on some nice trails in a fairly small town.
This race will take you around some cool ponds, through beautiful forested single track trails, and a unique mini but very cool covered bridge. I really wanna show off what a great town Sandy, Oregon is with the trails that we have here. I very much Love having these trails to run and train on and I really hope you appreciate and enjoy them too!
This race will be 100% local, meaning it will support the local community and businesses. This race will also be 100% green which means no cups, no mess, leave nothing but our footprints. This will be a great way to experience a fun 5k introducing yourselves to new trails, new locations, and making new friends.
