Senior Healthy Hikers – Wildcat Mountain McIntyre Ridge Hike

Tuesday June 25th, 2019

9am-5p

Meet at Gresham City Hall for carpooling

  • Round-trip travel: 60 miles
  • Distance: 5 to 6 miles
  • Difficulty: Moderate
  • Elevation gain: 800 feet
  • Suggested donation per rider: $7
  • Trail condition: Forest trail, with some rocky areas; steady, moderate climb out

This out-and-back hike on Wildcat Mountain features wildflowers, wild rhododendron and an abundance of bear grass, which hopefully will be in bloom. Even if the bear grass isn’t in bloom or particularly abundant, this beautiful wilderness hiking trail will take us through lush forest and along a ridge to a ridgetop meadow with a spectacular view of Mt. Hood and nearby valleys in clear weather.

Sturdy hiking shoes and poles are recommended. Bring water, snacks and a sack lunch to eat at the meadow.

Note: There are no restroom facilities at the trailhead or along the hike.

For more information about this hike please contact Linda Matthews at 503-766-9443.

Senior Healthy Hikers asks that participants be 50 or older. A couple wishing to hike is welcome if one member of the couple is 50 or better.

Pets are not permitted on our hikes or walks.
