Acid Dye Basics, One-day Workshop on Saturday, April 21 and Saturday, May 19. Class is $45, plus $5 for dyestuff/handout, plus $3 each for one-ounce skeins of wool. Class begins at 9am and usually ends around 4pm. Limit four (4) maximum students. (If you want to bring your own wool yarn, you must discuss with instructor PRIOR to day of class.) In this one-day workshop with Sandy Kennard, learn how to use Acid Dyes for beautiful and colorful results with your wool yarn. You will get hands-on experience mixing different primaries to achieve specific and unique colors of yarn.
Participants will learn to use ProChemical Washfast Acid Dyes. This class of dye is known for good light-fastness, wash-fastness, ease of use, and rich colors. We will cover the process from beginning to end: wool preparation, mixing dyes, and developing your own color “recipes”.
