Kim Yamashita is currently the City Manager and Emergency Operations Manager for the City of Sandy. She has been the Police Chief for the City of Sandy since she came to our community in April of 2010 after 17 years as a sergeant with the City of Washougal and a Patrol Officer with Vancouver (WA) Police Department. She holds a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and a master’s degree in management & human resources. She is retired from the U.S Air Force and a veteran of Operation Desert Storm. She has extensive training and experience in Emergency Management and is very motivated to ensure her community is safe and resilient should an emergency arise.
