While the benefits of mindfulness for focus and calmness are now well known, American culture has largely ignored the supporting structure from which the practice of mindfulness has been extracted. We invite you to a conversation about mindfulness: what is it and how do we cultivate it. Emilie Teiko Cartoun is co-founder of Wy’East Zen Center in Sandy, a Zen Buddhist practice center with regular instruction and Dharma talks. She has been a practicing Buddhist for many years, has served on the Board of Directors of Dharma Rain Zen Center in Portland.
