Image result for steiner cabinsHenry Steiner, of Brightwood, Oregon built over 100 log cabins between the late 1920’s through the 1940’s. Using logs felled, peeled and shaped on site and adding interesting curved limbs, roots and tree burls, the Steiner’s fashioned railings, door knobs, doors and furniture that distinguish Steiner cabins from all others. Our presenter, Lloyd Musser is a retired US Forest Service career employee who held a variety of positions on the Mt. Hood National Forest and the Regional Office in Portland. Documenting and researching the Steiner Cabins is one of his many Mt. Hood history projects. This program is part of the Sandy Library’s Mind~Body~Spirit; creating a vibrant adult life series, and is supported by the Friends of the Sandy Library.
