Everyone (age 8 and up) is invited to share a poem, or just come to watch and support our local poets.

A Poetry Slam is a performance poetry contest. It is an opportunity for people to share their original poetry with a wider audience. Poets will compete in age categories from grade school through adult. Our Slam is a multi-age event, topics and language must be appropriate for all ages; other than that limitation, any type of original poem is welcome. Registration for the event will be available, at the library and on our website, about a month prior to the event.

Come and see how much fun poetry can be!

Deadline is April 10th to have your name included in the program; walk-in registration also allowed. The will be a panel of judges deciding the winners this year. The grand prize winner will receive $100; an honorable mention award of $25 will go to the winner in each category. For those who would like to share a poem without entering the contest, there will be time allotted for this while votes are being counted. Refreshments will be provided.
