21st Annual Watershed Wide Volunteer Event: Restoration Extreme

Get your hands dirty to heal your local watershed at this FREE FAMILY-FUN event, hosted by the Johnson Creek Watershed Council! Join hundreds of other volunteers for an epic day of watershed stewardship and community building, followed by a free pizza party! Restoration work parties will take place 8:45am-12:00pm, followed by a free pizza party (location TBA) for all participants 12:30pm-1:30pm.

The one restoration site in Boring is on Bluff Rd. private property, where volunteers will remove invasive blackberry, which in dense thickets can replace native vegetation, serve as fuels for wildfire, limit access to sites with its thorns, and diminish overall habitat and wildlife diversity! You can also choose from nine other fascinating locations located in the Milwaukie, SE Portland, Happy Valley, and Gresham areas (locations map: http://bit.ly/WWE2019Locations), where volunteers will be planting over 3,000 native trees and shrubs, mulching young plantings, and removing harmful invasive weeds.
