This year marks the 23rd anniversary of Sandy Summer Sounds & Starlight Cinema. What started as a humble offering of a few concerts per year has turned into a great line-up of music and movies.
Sandy Summer Sounds consists of two concert series, one offered on Sundays at the Theater in the Woods Stage, the other on Wednesdays at the Dale Nichols Main Stage. On Saturdays , the Starlight Cinema offers a great selection of family friendly movies shown on the big screen at the Main Stage beginning at dusk.
All shows are held in beautiful Meinig Park, located just behind City Hall at 39250 Pioneer Blvd. and are FREE to the public. Everyone is invited to come out and enjoy a wonderful Sandy tradition. For more details please see the schedule below.
Concerts begin at 6:30 pm – Movies begin at dusk
The Theater in the Woods Stage is the perfect venue to hear solo acts and small groups in a charming, intimate setting. The stage is located in the SE corner of Meinig park near the log gazebo. Bench seating is provided. Leave your lawn chair at home and bring a blanket or stadium chair for added comfort. There are no vendors , but you are welcome to bring a picnic and a bottle of wine.

The beautiful Dale Nichols Main Stage is located near the park’s entrance at City Hall and Fantasy Forest. From bluegrass to blues, Mariachi to rock, Main Stage concerts offer something for everyone. Arrive early to buy dinner or a shaved ice from our vendors, who will be at all Wednesday concerts this year. Don’t forget to bring a blanket or lawn chairs for seating.

Enjoy some great family friendly feature length movies in the outdoors at the Dale Nichols Main Stage area. Bring a blanket or some lawn chairs and come experience the thrill of watching a movie surrounded by tall trees and twinkling stars.

- Concerts: All concerts will move to the Sandy Community Center (located at 38348 Pioneer Blvd)

SHAKESPEARE IN THE PARK
Portland Actors Ensemble is back due to popular demand, after a two year hiatus, to present their summer comedy at the Theater in the Woods Stage. Arrive early to be sure to get a seat; no lawn chairs in the amphitheater for this show, so bring a stadium chair or blanket to make the bench seating more comfortable.
