Nancy Johanesen-Dressler will be showing her historical documentary about the City of Sandy. The Sandy area was an important crossroad between the Oregon Trail and the Barlow road with over 50,000 pioneers crossing over. The DVD we will be viewing has been endorsed by the Oregon Trail School District and added to their curriculum for grades 1,2 & 4. It is also endorsed by the Sandy Historical Society Museum.
Visions of the Past was created in 2003 and aired on The Sandy Times Show cable Channel 7 for a few years. Steve Kamyere, of Metro Television, helped put the segments on a 1-1/2 hour DVD show.
Ms Johanesen-Dressler has worked as a Radio Disc Jockey at KNND/KCGR Cottage Grove and at KMHD; the Jazz Station in Portland. She has also worked at MCTV cable television and for the US Forest Service.
Nancy is excited to have narrated and brought to life the book, “80 Years In The Same Neighborhood” written by local author, Phil Jonsrud.
This program is part of our MIND~BODY~SPIRIT; creating a vibrant adult life series, and is supported by the Friends of the Sandy Library.
