“Shadows” — a Wy’East Artisans Guild Show featuring our own Earlean Marsh

From March 31 to April 21, the Wy’East Artisans Guild, will be presenting “Shadows” a show of artwork inspired by the play “The Shadow Box,” being presented at the Sandy Actors Theatre. The WyEast artists will examine how important shadows are in artwork. Shadows help to define depth in a painting and as shading give the illusion of volume. They add drama and emotion. The public is invited to view local area artists efforts on March 30, at 6:45 in the Sandy Actors Theatre foyer.

The featured artist for this show is Earlean Marsh, a very active volunteer in the Estacada/Sandy area whose wonderful, colorful paintings can be seen in many locations. She taught art and drama at Molalla for 36 years. Now retired she paints, takes classes and enjoys life drawing. She paints primarily flowers, scenery, houses and animals.  She has been a co-op member of the Spiral Gallery in Estacada for a number of years and their featured artist three times. Her work can also be seen in Artsmith and the Book Nook in Estacada.

She is a TOPS leader and is involved in the Clackamas River Basin Counsel, EagleCreek/Barton CPO, and a Book Nook board member and volunteer.

On March 30, at 6:45 the public is invited to join the artists for a reception at the Sandy Actors Theatre followed by a dress-rehearsal performance of “The Shadow Box”.

The play officially opens March 31 and runs through April 23, with the “Shadows” artwork on display in the lobby.
Sandy Actors Theatre is located behind the Ace hardware in Sandy at 39181 Pioneer Blvd.
Seating at the March 30 reception is on a first come basis and all donations benefit the Guild’s non-profit public programs.
